The grandeur of the falls known locally as Mosi-Oa-Tunya ["the Smoke that
Thunders"] [at 122m and nearly a mile wide -- twice the size of Niagra] in
the center of the African plain is only part of the magic. There's also
the miniature rain forest created from the constant mist, the white water
rafting down the Zambesi separating Zambia and Zimbabwe, the overnight steam
train ride through the moon-lit savanna to Bulawayo watching the animals come
for their evening drink at the various streams along the way...
